Screened in the main competition of the 72nd Venice International Film Festival, it became the first South African film nominated for the prestigious Golden Lion. Additionally, it was featured in the Contemporary World Cinema section of the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.

Resonate: crafting an exquisite soundscape. Recording and mixing Braam du Toit’s remarkable score, we employed a 30-piece string section to bring his music to life. We embarked on an extensive journey through the film’s shooting locations, capturing an extensive array of ambient sounds using various microphone techniques.

Embarking on an auditory odyssey: journeying across the expansive Overberg region to immortalize authentic sounds for the film. From vibrant townships to quaint local coffee shops and vast farmlands, our meticulously captured sounds infused vibrancy and authenticity into the film’s narrative. Employing a diverse array of high-end microphone techniques and state-of-the-art field recording rigs, we devoted over 1000km to painstakingly explore the richness of farmlands and villages, uncovering nuanced soundscapes that elevate the film’s sonic tapestry.
